3 Steps for weight loss [not what you think]

This is my first #TransformationTuesday post in maybe 5 years. It’s 7 weeks to the date that I started this journey, and have officially lost a total of 17 pounds. 

Of course, if you know me by now, it's not about the weight. But, it shows what can happen when you shift from a life of restriction, control and perfectionism to one dedicated to self care, nourishment and positivity.

If you’re in a dark place, mentally and physically, and feel like you can’t get out, I’M HERE TO TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN. It took 3 years to finally say ‘enough is enough,’ but I do know for a fact I’d still be on that same destructive, depressed path if it weren’t for doing these 3 things first:

ACCEPT WHERE YOU ARE. Whether you love yourself or not, you got here somehow–fighting it won’t change your circumstances. It’s from this place of radical acceptance, major change can happen. Surrender to who and where you are in this moment.
 
KNOW THAT YOU ARE WORTHY
 of this change–of loving your body, living every day in confidence and knowing pure happiness, both with yourself and the world around you. You are BEAUTIFUL and you do DESERVE this.

TAKE EVERY DAY AS IT COMES. Don’t concentrate on how far you have to go. Don’t make crazy milestone weight loss goals that are light years away. This will overwhelm you and make you quit before you even get started. Instead, focus on what you can do to better your mind, body and soul each day. These little efforts have a way of creeping up on you (and then all of a sudden, 7 weeks later, you’ve lost 2 dress sizes?!?!) Be patient. Be kind to yourself. And enjoy the journey each and every day.

Stop waiting. It’s worth every sacrifice. You’re beautiful. Go get ’em.  xoxox
