SIGNS YOU'RE ON A DIET

Diets in disguise are STILL diets. 🙅🏼

There are a ton of "eating patterns" out there that people label as "healthy lifestyle changes," but are in fact, a "diet in disguise." 

If your "lifestyle changes" include any of the below behaviors, guess what girlfriend?

...you're still letting a DIET CONTROL YOUR LIFE.

And babes ... we aint got time for that.

  • You're living by the scale and being defined by the number looking back at you. You check it at least once a week, your mood changes based on the result and you adjust your daily food behaviors (even if it's just slightly) in hopes of changing what you see.

  • You count macros, points or calories, use your Fitness Pal or food journal daily. These food tracking tools have been "normalized" by the diet society, but actually create an unhealthy obsession often leading to disordered eating. 

  • You have "off limit" foods or "bad" vs. "good" food lists.  Controlling and restricting food with the "all or nothing" mentality sends your brain into "survival mode," telling you to eat — why we end up binge & emotional eating. 

  • You follow any type of food regimen or weight loss challenge that has specific guidelines on "how to eat." Yes, this means Paleo, The Whole 30, Weight Watchers, Low Carb, Keto and the list goes on. These are deemed healthy, but still require you to strictly control your food.

  • Your thoughts and self-talk focus on food and your body the majority of your day. 

  • You over plan weekly food, meal plans and social events based on what you can and cannot eat. 

  • You judge, shame or criticize your food choices, even if it's just a little bit.

  • You use verbiage like, "I'll start again tomorrow" or "I'll go over my macros."

  • You attempt trendy cleanses and detoxes for a "quick fix" before a big date or vacation, or "just because." FYI: these are NOT harmless just because they are short-lived.

  • You choose your food based on your will to lose weight not to fuel your mind and body with what it needs to thrive. ​
